Timon Leder (1986) is a film director, animator, graphic designer and educator. He graduated in 2013, from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana, with a degree in graphic design. He expanded his academic knowledge at the animation school in France, ESAG Penninghen - School for industrial design, graphics design and interior design / École supérieure de design, d'art graphique et d’architecture intérieure (Paris, 2009) and at La Poudrière - School for animated film / École du film d'animation (Valence, 2012).

Since 2015, he has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts (University of Nova Gorica) for hand-drawn and cut-out techniques of animation. At the same time, he researches the understanding of film language, and educational and developmental influences of animated films on children.

His animated debut, Work (2008, co-created with Urban Breznik), was shown at more than 40 festivals worldwide. In 2016, he made his professional animated debut Weasel, which was selected to over 40 festivals and was accompanied by an audio-visual exhibition - Weasel. He often works as lead animator and animator with other directors and was a part of over 10 short animated films and animated series.

He wrote a master thesis on children's understanding of film language (2013), and participated as co-author and illustrator of the first Slovenian manual for animation, intended for schools and kindergartens, Let's animate! (2016), and as expert reviewer of the translation of a textbook for secondary schools, Secrets of animator (Julia Peguet, 2021).

His following professional films, Mouse House (Invida, 2022, 8 min) was released in 2022. Until now, the film won 6 awards and 2 special mentions. Also, in 2022, the animated film Twisted Fairy Tales: Cinda Real (ITD, 2022, 12 min) was released, at which he worked as the lead animator. The film won 11 awards.
