On 1st and 2nd February, 2013, the University of Nova Gorica will introduce itself at the Slovene Education and Career Fair Informativa '13, which will take place at the Gospodarsko razstavišče in Ljubljana. The students and the professors of the University of Nova Gorica will present all the study programs and the process of study. Moreover, they will do some experiments and practical exercises, as they are done at the University.

The visitors of the fair will be able to witness some of these experiments. We will show our electric motorcycle, a special system for hydrogen production, we will hold an animation workshop, a test of sensorial abilities and the like.

Marko Ukota, a student at the School of Engineering and Management will exhibit the electric motorcycle that he constructed together with the team working on the production and the sale of electric motorcycles. This was the project that got them into the finale of the Ambitious Slovenia competition, and the motorcycle is also the recipient of the design award Vespa that was given away by the Piaggio foundation. The project is different from the others in a sense that it is particularly business oriented. The team possesses the information and the knowledge necessary for industrialization of such motorcycles and the start-up of the sale, however, they are currently looking for an investor or a business partner.

Sensorial characteristics are of key importance when it comes food quality. Students of the School for Viticulture and Enology will make sure the visitors will have a chance to test their sensorial abilities.

The central activity of the School of Arts is the display of the stop motion animation technique, moreover, they will invite the visitors to co-create a short animated film. Several student films will be viewed and several study processes will be exposed.

As important step in the change from the usage of fossil fuels to renewable fuels represents the use of hydrogen that is, as a constituent element of water, available in virtually limitless quantities. In the hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen together with oxygen forms water and the fusion creates energy in the form of electricity which can be used as fuel in the internal combustion engine. Getting hydrogen by using renewable energy sources and with the help of photovoltaic cells, the strain on the environment is much lesser than in the case fossil fuels. The students of the School of Environmental Sciences will show these technologies to the audience.

Furthermore, the students of Physics, Slovene Studies and Cultural History will also have their chance to present the activities and projects they are involved in.

On Friday, between 10 and 11 am, the University of Nova Gorica, as part of its presentation at Informativa ’13, will take the visitors from vines to galaxies, as we will discuss the principles of good employment practices. We want prospective students to think about what they want to be when they grow up: physics, researchers and/ or growers of wine, engineers, historians, experts in Slovene studies, environmental technologists…? Potential students will be able to speak with successful graduates of our University.

All of these events will take place at Gospodarsko razstavišče in Ljubljana on 1st and 2nd February, 2013.
