The University of Nova Gorica will host a German member of the European Parliament, Mr. Jo Leinen

On Thursday, 31 January, 2013, a German member of the European Parliament, Mr. Jo Leinen, will visit the University of Nova Gorica. At 3 p.m. the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and the Vice-rector for Research. Prof. Dr. Gvido Bratina will meet with Mr. Leinen.

The main purpose of the visit is to introduce Mr. Leinen to the undergraduate and graduate programs at our University, as well as present other research developments and activities that are in progress. Special attention will be paid to the pedagogical activities at the School of Environmental Sciences, the School of Viticulture and Enology, and the Graduate School. In the research area, the Laboratory for Environmental Research, Materials Research Laboratory, the Wine Research Center, and the Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering will be at the forefront. Moreover, the Rector will introduce the University’s development strategy to Mr. Leinen.

The Rector, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and Mr. Jo Leinen will devote most of their time to discussing the University of Nova Gorica’s international connections and thus reinforce mutual interest in collaboration. The guest will also visit the renovated Lanthieri mansion.
