Position: Postdoctoral Fellow or Assistant Professor

Term: 2 years, with contract renewal each year

Job description:
The successful candidate will join the Pierre Auger group within the Laboratory for astroparticle physics at Nova Gorica, Slovenia. He/she will be expected to show motivation and self-initiative in pursuing advanced research of ultra high energy cosmic rays, in particular the analysis and interpretation of the results of the southern observatory P. Auger in Argentina. He/she will also be expected to participate in the operation and maintenance of the observatory.

The position also includes teaching duties in the field of physics at both the graduate and undergraduate level.

Qualification:
The applicant must have a PhD degree at the time of application or is certain to receive it prior to starting the job at the University of Nova Gorica.

Method of Selection:
The candidate is required to come to the University of Nova Gorica for an interview. The interview may be conducted via internet-based teleconference.

Salary:
Paid monthly, ranging from 16000-20000 EUR per year (after tax). In addition, full medical coverage and social security is paid for by the University, as well as supplementary allowance for commuting.
