The Highest State Recognition Awards for Scientific Research and Developmental Achievements is Science Given to Two Faculty Members of the University of Nova Gorica
On Friday, 22 November, 2013, the Union Hall in Maribor hosted a formal celebration dedicated to giving out the Zois awards, the Ambassador of Science awards, as well as the Puh awards. The Zois award and the Ambassador of Science award were also given to two faculty members of the University of Nova Gorica.
Among those who received the Zois award was also Prof. Dr. Nada Lavrač, who works at the University of Nova Gorica’s School of Engineering and Management and at the International Jožef Stefan Graduate School. She is also a scientific councilor at the Jožef Stefan Institute. She was awarded for her important scientific work in the area of intelligent data analysis.
The Ambassador of Science award of the Republic of Slovenia was given to Prof. dr. Tanja Dominko, the Head of the Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering at the University of Nova Gorica and a visiting researcher at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the U.S..
