In the House of Experiments, the agreement was signed by the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, prof. dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and Mag. Lara Brun, the Director of the Nova Gorica Youth Center.

The collaboration will mostly be focused on the areas of science and engineering. It will be geared towards common presentations and setting up of experiments for wider audiences, organization of science and engineering camps and summer schools for younger people, preparation and implementation of educational projects, promotion of science and engineering, as well as of research work. And so much more. Both institutions anticipate that the collaboration will develop smoothly in the future and gradually expand to other areas of research.

The University of Nova Gorica is a contemporary, student-friendly university that is geared towards reserach. It mediates the knowledge to its students and creates it together with them. This is how a constant flow of knowledge is sustained and this is how new ideas and fresh approaches are born. The University collaborates with many international institutions and encourages its students to participate in gaining experience through international exchange programs.

The e-House is an experimental-educational center that, with various experiments, workshops, and courses reveals the laws of everyday phenomena. The e-House encourages learning thorough practical experience, as this is how people acquire new information most easily. Such activities are particularly efficient when they comprise of enjoyable, fun, unexpected, and brand new experiences. The e-House offers all that.

The first results of collaboration will be visible in the Fall, when the e-House will host a multimedia exhibition of the international project TESSI in their new venue in the center of Nova Gorica. The exhibition was prepared by the Laboratory for Environmental Research of the University of Nova Gorica in collaboration with two partner organizations from Italy and Slovenia. The goal of the TESSI project is to encourage and spread sustainability practices in Slovenian and Italian high schools, especially in the areas of energy and water usage, as well as garbage disposal. The exhibition encompasses multivision and practical experiments that target both pupils and high school students as well as curious adults. People will be shown what energy economy is, they will be explained what virtual water is, what the meaning of isolative properties of materials is and the like.
