The Ave Chamber Choir has been, for the past two decades, one of the most recognizable choirs in Slovenia and in Europe. Their undying vision is to perform choral music with perfection. The choir has participated with great success at international festivals and competitions and has had a number of successful concerts in Slovenia and abroad. They have won one or more first prizes and several first prizes at 13 domestic and international competitions. The choir also received the City of Ljubljana award (1994), the Prešeren Foundation award (1994), The City of Ljubljana plaquette (2000), and the Silver medal of the Ljubljana Association of Cultural Societies (2002). Since May 2011, the choir’s artistic leader is Jerica Gregorc Bukovec.

During the University of Nova Gorica’s Eastern Concert, songs from Slovenia and from around the world were sung. There were also guests present namely Janez Jocif (bagpipes, portative organ, hurdy-gurdy, fujara), Matej Lenarčič (gong, drums, and darabuka), and Taja Levstik (organs). The choreography was the work of Tanja Skok and Barbara Kanc.
