On Thursday, 22 January, 2015, the University of Nova Gorica hosted a delegation of the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Sports, and Youth. The members of the committee met with the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and the two Vice-Rectors, Prof. Dr. Gvido Bratina and Prof. Dr. Mladen Franko.

A Visit of the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Sports, and Youth

The Rector, Prof. Dr. Zavrtanik introduced the pedagogical and research activities of the University to the committee. They also looked at the working areas of individual faculties and laboratories in Rožna Dolina, Gorica, Ajdovščina, and in Vipava.

At the end of the visit of the University of Nova Gorica, there was a committee meeting that took place at the Lanthieri Mansion.

At the end of the visit, the president of the committee, Mirjam Bon Klanjšček, M.Sc., thanked the hosts for the pleasant reception and hospitality, as well as for the in-depth explanation of the University’s activities. She expressed great enthusiasm in regard to the work of the University. Prof. Dr. Zavrtanik added that he was proud of the University’s 20th anniversary, which is being celebrated this year. Such visits always mean so much to us, as this one of the ways of how to inform the Slovenian public about the work and various achievements of the University of Nova Gorica.
