Three Faculty Members of The University of Nova Gorica Became Members of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts

On Saturday, 7 March, 2015, three faculty members of the University of Nova Gorica became, on the basis of the decision of the Senate of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and on the recommendation of the Nomination Committee proper.

Members of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts: the Vice-president of SAZU, academician Prof. Dr. Andrej Kranjc (member of the UNG Senate and Professor Emeritus at UNG) became member of the IV. Class: Natural Sciences; the president of SAZU, academician Prof. Dr. Tadej Bajd, a member of the Senate of UNG and a Professor at the School of Engineering and Management, became a regular member of the VI. Class: Technical Sciences; and Prof. Dr. Irena Avsenik Nabergoj, professor of literature and literary theory at the School of Humanities at UNG became a regular member of the I. Class – Humanities.

They received the membership documents during the jubilee celebration dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA) at the Grand University Hall in Salzburg. This is where the inauguration of the new EASA members took place. The festive event was presided by prof. dr. dr. h. c. Felix Unger, the President of EASA. The vice-rectors of EASA were also present at the event.
