A Diplomatic Visit of the University of Nova Gorica
On Monday, 1 June, 2015, Slovenian foreign Minister Karel Erjavec prepared a visit for the leaders of the diplomatic missions in the Republic of Slovenia in the Vipava Valley and in the Karst region. 26 ambassadors went on this trip.
At the University of Nova Gorica’s venue at the Lanthieri Mansion, the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and the mayor of the Vipava municipality, Ivan Princes (M.Sc.) met with the ambassadors.
The Rector Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik briefly introduced the ambassadors with the University’s pedagogical and research work and the exceptional results that the University reached at the recent international university ranking called U-Multirank. After that, the guests had a tour of the Lanthieri Mansion as well as of the laboratories of the University’s Wine Research Center and the Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering. The visit ended with the tasting of the local Vipava dishes and of the University’s wines.
At the end of the visit, the ambassadors thanked the hosts for a pleasant visit.
