Springer Publishing House just published a scientific monograph by a faculty member of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Juš Kocijan
Springer Publishing House’s series Advances in Industrial Control just published a scientific monograph by Prof. Dr. Juš Kocijan, titled Modeling and Control of Dynamic Systems Using Gaussian Process Models.
Prof. dr. Juš Kocijan is a Full Professor of Electro-technical Science at the School of Engineering and Management of the University of Nova Gorica, where he teaches Engineering Management (First and Second Level) and Environmental Studies (First and Second Level).
The monograph opens up a new outlook for engineers and researchers in industry as well as in academic institutions, in terms of familiarizing them with the field of system identification and automatic leadership. Besides the theoretic base of modeling based on Gauss’s processes, the author emphasizes the practical aspects of the usage and introduces the guidelines for the implementation of the method of modeling. The book shows potential for practical usage and gives the reader an intuitive outlook into this new method in the field of probability methods of mechanical learning. The book describes the current situation in the field of the usage of modeling of dynamic systems using Gaussian process models and the possible future directions of research.
