A Student of the UNG’s Graduate School Receives the “Lirikonov zlát” award
The Velenje Literary Foundation has been organizing the International Lirikonfest Velenje for 17 years now. This festival of lyric and travel narratives will take place this year between May 30th and June 1st in Velenje. The main event of the festival is the Lirikon Academy of Poetic Slovenia, where on May 31st, as it is traditionally done, literary awards will be given out.
Among the recipients, there is also Maruša Mugerli Lavrenčič, a graduate student at the Humanities program at the Graduate school of the University of Nova Gorica. She will receive the Lirikonov zlát translation award for her translations of contemporary Slovene poetry into German that have been published in various literary journals, as well as for her contribution to translations in the festival anthologies over the years.
