University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia) announces an experienced researcher in computational physics or chemistry of materials (ab initio or DFT modelling) job position.

University of Nova Gorica intends to employ an experienced researcher for ab initio or DFT modelling of structural and electrooptical properties of modern amorphous oxide materials.

Fields of work and research: * computational modelling of optical properties of defects in amorphous oxide materials, * collaborative work and theoretical support to experimentalist from fields of photocatalytic and electromagnetic materials, * preparation of the research project applications.

Qualifications: * to hold a docent/assistant professor title or meet the standards to obtain the docent title in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or similar field, * demonstrated experience and research results from computational studies of amorphous oxide materials, * demonstrated ability to promote and perform independent work in a group-oriented research environment, * a distinguished publication track record, * very good oral and written communication skills in English are essential.

The employment is expected to start 1.9.2018. The position is a one-year tenure track position with expectation to be converted to a tenured position.

The selected candidate will have teaching responsibilities within one ore more study programs of University of Nova Gorica.
