Head of Center for astrophysics and cosmology (m/f)

The Center for Astrophysics and cosmology (CAC) at the University of Nova Gorica is situated in Ajdovščina, located in the central part of the wine producing Vipava valley. The research of the group is focused on astro-particle physics, high-energy and multi-messenger astrophysics.

We are seeking a new colleague motivated by the challenge of forming and leading their own research group. We can offer a dynamic research environment with a focus on involvement in international research.

The head of the center will also have the opportunity to teach students at all three Bologna study levels on faculties of University of Nova Gorica.

To be considered for the position, you should: * have a PhD from the relevant field, * fulfill criteria for a leader of research projects, * have team-leadership capabilities, * have at least five years of research experience, * have command of Slovene and English language at C1 level.

Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to submit details of their vision for the center. The selected candidate will be offered a full-time permanent position for an initial period of four years, which may be extended.
