The University of Nova Gorica is offering the position of postdoctoral associate in the field of chemical analysis of grapes, must and wine.

We are seeking candidates interested in pursuing a rewarding research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica. We offer a dynamic research environment supported by the latest research equipment and a focus on involvement in international research.

Work will be based at the Wine Research Centre, in the field of the science of grapes and wine. In accordance with their appointment, the selected candidate will also assume teaching duties at the School for Viticulture and Enology in subjects related to the chemistry and chemical analysis of wine on the basic and advanced levels, with a requirement of up to ten hours per week, and will be expected to guide students in project and diploma work. The selected candidate will also participate in applications for new projects at the national and international levels.

Application requirements: * doctorate in the field of biotechnical or natural sciences, * practical and theoretical experience in chemical analysis of plant samples using various advanced analytical techniques (liquid chromatography, gas chromatography in combination with various detectors) and modern techniques of preparing plant samples for analysis, * active knowledge of English, * ability to work in a team.

Work in the position is expected to start immediately following the selection process. This position is for full working hours in a fixed term of one year.
