The University of Nova Gorica is announcing an open position for research assistant or research associate in the field of biotechnology, molecular/cell biology and antimicrobial activity.

Candidates who are interested in the possibility of a promising research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica are invited to participate. We offer a position in a dynamic research environment, supported by state-of-the-art research equipment and with strong involvement in the international research community.
The work will take place in the Laboratory for Environmental and Life sciences, in the field of biotechnology, molecular/cell biology and antimicrobial activity. The selected candidate will also take on teaching responsibilities in the field of biotechnology and molecular biology in one or more study programs of the university.
Candidates are expected to: * hold a PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology or similar fields, * have a good command of the English language, * preferably have research experience abroad (1 year or longer).
The selection procedure will focus on theoretical knowledge and practical experience of candidates in one or more of the following fields: biotechnology, molecular and cell biology, analytical instrumental techniques, flow cytometry and microbiology (as evidenced by the bibliography of relevant scientific articles in international journals).
Candidates for the position of assistant professor must have the relevant habilitation or meet the conditions for election to the title of assistant professor, in accordance with the university's election rules.
The position will be available as soon as the selection process is completed and no later than 15 October 2020. Selected candidate will be appointed on a full-time basis for 12 months, with a possible extension of the contract or appointment to a permanent position.
