For the 2019/2020 academic year, the University of Nova Gorica Foundation awarded two prizes:

  • one in the amount of € 500 – to a student of the first-level program,

  • one in the amount of € 750 – to a student of the second-level program.

About the recipients of the award for the 2019/2020 academic year

For the academic year 2019/2020, the University of Nova Gorica Foundation decided to award the prize to the following two students:

* Jošt Šeško, BA student of Digital Arts and Practices Justification: During his studies, Jošt Šeško strongly bonded the students of his generation. With his colleagues from the student animation initiative, he established a real comradely community, where the older students introduced younger ones to more demanding animation procedures, while the younger ones gained experience working with the older ones, they exchanged tutorials, drew together and supported each other. With his personality and approach, Jošt Šeško was the central person of this collaborative work. Meanwhile, he worked hard on his diploma animated film, which he successfully completed in May 2020 (the film was already screened at the Slovenian Film Festival 2020) and, together with an excellent theoretical part of the diploma and its defense, graduated with honors in September 2020. * Sagar Gahatraj, MA student of Media Arts and Practices Justification: Since the beginning of his studies, Sagar Gahatraj has been working on raising the awareness of responsible living, attitudes towards fellow human beings, animals and nature. He is our strict but good spirit that reminds us that we are all connected, that our future depends on our actions. Through the production of his master’s film, he has once again shown himself in the light of a community guardian. He earned this award because of his quality study works and also because of the great networking action, which he managed to encourage in Nova Gorica, despite the fact that he came to this community from afar and did not know anyone here. He connected a large number of individuals from the wider Goriška area who are involved in film, and also many who entered into something like this for the first time. He shot the film entirely at locations, with people and companies in Nova Gorica and Gorizia (Italy). In the production of his film, which reflects his observations of society, he has managed to connect a wide variety of individuals. Congratulations!
