Yesterday, at an event which took place live online, due to the Corona crisis, the Slovenian Animated Film Association (DFSA) presented Guild Awards and Awards for best student animation projects in the field of animated films.

As many as five students from the School of Arts in Nova Gorica received the DFSA Award for student animation projects.

The Award for a completed student animation project for 2020 was won by Miha Reja for the study project Za zaprtimi roletami (Behind closed shutters), while the Special mention for a completed student animation project was given to Jošt Šeško for the project Zemlječarstvo (Geomancy), Larisa Nagode for the project Elsie, and Katarina Blažič for the project Pogovor brez konca (Five-hour conversation). The Award for a student animation project in progress was given to Amadeja Kirbiš for the project Dismorfija (Dysmorphia).

As published on the DFSA website, the Awards Committee had to choose from the largest number of completed animation films yet – 13 authors with 14 works in total had applied. In this regard, the Committee noted that the increase in quality production was the result of both creativity of the young authors, and the mentoring activities of the professorial staff at the School of Arts of the University of Nova Gorica and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana.

The awarded films of the School of Arts’ students will be available for viewing until 8 November at the address: https://bit.ly/2JBZxEP.
