The University of Nova Gorica has a vacancy for the position of post-doctoral researcher in the field of ultra-fast spectroscopy.

We are seeking candidates interested in pursuing a rewarding research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica. We offer a dynamic research environment with a focus on involvement in the international academic sphere.

The candidate will work at the Laboratory of Quantum Optics. His/her activities will focus on exploring the electron dynamics of gas-phase samples by means of ultra-short light pulses. Some activities will be also carried out at the Elettra laboratory (Trieste, Italy), where LKO’s group promotes and participates to several scientific projects, involving both the Elettra Synchrotron radiation facility and the free-electron laser FERMI.
Specifically, the post-doc will help with the upgrade and commissioning of an experimental chamber for pump-probe photoemission studies. He/she will give assistance to external users and will also have the opportunity to develop his/her original research line in the field of spectroscopy.

The selected candidate will have teaching responsibilities in the field of physics within one or more study programs of the University of Nova Gorica.

To be considered for the position, you should: * have a doctorate in condensed matter physics, or related topic; * have proven experience with the use of light sources for scientific experiments; * have knowledge of the English language to at least B2 level; * be able to work both independently and in a team.

Employment is offered for 40 working hours per week over a fixed term of one year. The planned start date is immediately after completion of the selection procedure, or by agreement.
