INDUSTRIAL LIAISON OFFICER (M / F)

The Industrial Liaison Office is responsible for commercialization of research and knowledge developed by the University researchers, faculty and staff. Our focus is to foster and develop a collaborative work environment between the researchers, industry partners and funding agencies.
The position is opened within the project entitled Strengthening University of Nova Gorica Research Potential in Environmental Sciences and Novel Nanomaterials (SUNGREEN), co-financed under Framework Programme 7 (Call: FP7-REGPOT-2011-1) with duration until 30.9.2014. Permanent employment is possible after termination of the project.

Fields of work:

  • to identify, together with the University researchers, faculty and staff, the promising and commercially interesting inventions and innovations arising from their research,
  • to protect intellectual property (IP) that arises from their research
  • to develop go-to-market strategies,
  • to develop relationships and engage with industry,
  • to search prior art, to assist in formulation of research programs and to maximize commercial potential of the research,
  • to assist in the establishment of the start-up companies for commercialization of University technologies,
  • negotiate and make intellectual property conveyances,
  • to protect and manage the University intellectual property rights and proliferate their commercialization,
  • to support grant applications that have elements of commercialization,
  • to monitor and manage contractual obligations in the field of intellectual property,
  • to provide researchers with means to translate knowledge through commercialization,
  • to leverage funding opportunities for technologies with commercial potential,
  • to create opportunities for industry and government engagement,
  • to increase knowledge impact in society and local environment.
  • Qualifications:

  • documented training and/or experience in technology transfer between research institutions and industries.
