Markusheva (Laboratory for Atomic, Molecular and Laser Spectroscopy Institute of Physics, Beograd, Srbija) z naslovom “Air Monitoring by Photoacoustic Spectroscopy” v četrtek, 14. decembra 2006 ob 17. uri v predavalnici P-7 Univerze v Novi Gorici. There is a great variety of gaseous atmospheric pollutants, and this fact sets a challenging standard to their constant and precise detection and monitoring. One of the most efficient greenhouse gases present in the atmosphere is sulphur hexafluoride (SF6). With its long lifetime and a global warming potential of ~ 23 000 relative to CO2 over a 100-year time horizon, this molecule gives a good reason for complete and careful physical and chemical analysis. During the past few decades, various different air monitoring schemes and techniques have been developed and extensively discussed in the literature. One of the most powerful techniques for the air monitoring and trace gas detection (especially SF6 and SF6 like molecules), based on the progress made in the field of lasers and electronics, is the photoacoustics spectroscopy (PAS), and the recent applications and fundamentals about PAS technique will be discussed here.
