Sandra Jovanovska’s statement on University of Nova Gorica, School of Arts
In my estimation, the Master’s study program Media Arts and Practices at the School of Arts of the University of Nova Gorica is of extremely high quality. The dynamics and creativity of the university program are unlike any program of any other institution I have encountered. What is more, the professors’ individual approach towards each student is highly respected, and students can obtaincompletely devoted supervision on the development of their individual projects. On the other hand, this opportunity makes it possible for students and tutors to fully interact, communicate and collaborate on various levels.
As a matter of fact, the school takes care that its students are fully up-to-date with the contemporary arts and culture scene, both regionally and internationally. Therefore, the students have the rare opportunity to travel, meet new people, connect with similar artists all over the world and interact in common projects. This is an evident proof that this organization maintains and supports its students, by assisting them to become mature prominent artists prepared to interact in the contemporary art world.
Studying at a Slovenian university is a great experience for me. Not only that I encountered an academic structure which differs from the one in my country, but I also learned that being in this environment further broadened my perspectives and enriched my visions as an artist. I hereby state that I have been beyond than satisfied with my studies at the Univeristy of Nova Gorica’s School of Arts for these last five months and I would not change this precious experience for anything else.
