The Ascend Project is an Interreg IIIC project aiming at investigating the potential socio-economic re-use of former military defence systems.

The partners of the project come from 7 different european countries and this event is targeting the enlargement of the project network to new partners, especially from the South-Eastern Europe. University of Nova Gorica signed a framework agreement with Marco Polo System geie, promoter of this conference, and Centro Studi Arsenale, to carry out common activities and exchange experiences for the preservation of architectural and environmental heritage in Venice and in the Mediterranean.

The conference, where the speech of two students of the ETCAEH study programme was presented, took place on December 17 in a magnificent building on the Grand Canal in Venice, presently the seat of the Venice Province and of the Marco Polo System geie.
