The Highest State Awards in the Field of Scientific-Research and Science Development Activities have been Conferred

On Friday, 20 November, 2015, Zois’s awards, the Ambassador of Science awards, and the Puh awards have been conferred to the select group of researches at the Auditorium in Portorož.

Among the recipients of the Zois’s awards are also faculty members of the University of Nova Gorica, namely, Prof. Dr. Katja Mihurko Poniž for her scholarly monograph Zapisano z njenim peresom: prelomi zgodnjih slovenskih književnic s paradigmo nacionalne literature (Written with her pen: a deviation of early Slovene female writers from the paradigm of national literature) and Prof. Dr. Andreja Gomboc for her important research findings concerning the gamma ray bursts.

Apart from the two mentioned awards, the Zois’s life achievement award was given to the academician, Prof. Dr. Peter Fajfar, the Ambassador of Science award of the Republic of Slovenia was given to Prof. Dr. Matija Strlič, three Zois’s awards for cutting edge research were given to Prof. Dr. Mitjan Kalin, Prof. Dr. Tomaž Pisanski, and Prof. Dr. Borut Štrukelj. Three Zois’s awards for important findings in the area of scientific research and development were given to Doc. Dr. Alenka Mertelj, Doc. Dr. Darja Lisjak, Prof. Dr. Jana Roškar, and Prof. Dr. Kristina Gruden. Lastly, the Puh award for invention, research achievements and the usage of scientific findings was given to Ines Bantan, Helena Razpotnik, Silvo Drnovšek, and Danjela Kuščer Hrovatin.
