Researchers' Night

European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide action launched as part of the Horizon 2012 Research and Innovation Programme. As a result of this initiative of the European Commission, once a year the doors of research organisations all over Evrope are wide open to present the jobs and lives of scientists to the general public. In Slovenia, in 2016 and 2017 the European Researchers’ Night with the slogan "Science for Life" will be carried out by a five-member project consortium including also the University of Nova Gorica.

On 30th September 2016, various events will take place in several places all across Slovenia as part of the European Researchers’ Night. Thus, also the University of Nova Gorica will, in cooperation with local organisations, organise workshops, presentations, open days, demonstrations of experiments and other activities, through which the people will be able to get in contact with researchers and learn how the latter contribute to the society in general. On this occasion, the Nova Gorica Centre of Culture will also host the award ceremony for the winners of the contest "Science for Life", aimed at Slovenian primary and secondary school pupils.
