The University of Nova Gorica has a vacancy for the position of postdoctoral associate in the field of biochemistry, biotechnology and microbiology.

We are seeking candidates interested in pursuing a rewarding research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica. We offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supported by state-of-the-art research equipment and with a strong involvement in international research contexts.
Research will take place at the Laboratory for Environmental and Life sciences in the field of the characterisation of extracellular vesicles produced by cancer cells. In accordance with their appointment, the successful candidate will also assume teaching duties to the extent of 10 hours per week in the study programmes offered by the School of Environmental Sciences and the School of Viticulture and Enology.

Application requirements: * a doctorate in the field of biology/biochemistry/molecular biology/biotechnology,
* the ability to combine various technologies and an interest in developing new research approaches, * previous experience in standard cloning and purification techniques (chromatographic techniques), characterisation (ELISA, IP, WB, biochemical tests) and protein labelling, * a good command of English, * the ability to work as part of a team.

Priority will be given to candidates with experience in phage display technology, nanobody engineering and biosensor development, where such experience must be supported by original scholarly publications.

Employment is offered for full-time working hours over a fixed term of one year. The planned start date is immediately after completion of the selection procedure or by agreement.
