Dr. Tina Škorjanc – Recipient of the Pregl Award for an Outstanding Doctoral Thesis

At the closing event, which was held online, the National Institute of Chemistry presented Pregl Awards for outstanding doctoral theses in chemistry and related sciences, and honoured the doctoral candidates who defended their theses this year.

Among this year’s award winners is Dr. Tina Škorjanc, researcher at the Materials Research Laboratory of the University of Nova Gorica, who received the Pregl Award for an outstanding doctoral thesis in 2020.

As the commission wrote in its explanatory note, Dr. Škorjanc received the award for the thesis titled Insoluble Main-Chain Organic Macrocycle-Based Covalent Organic Polymers and Frameworks, and Their Applications in Pollutant Capture and Drug Delivery. The thesis supervisor was Prof. Dr. Ali Trabolsi.
