The University of Nova Gorica has a vacancy for the position of assistant professor in the field of physical/atmospheric chemistry.

We are seeking candidates interested in pursuing a rewarding academic career at the University of Nova Gorica. We offer a dynamic research environment with a focus on the involvement in international research collaborations.

The work will be carried out at the Centre for Atmospheric Research.

The successful candidate will carry out research and development in field and laboratory measurements, as well as data analysis, of aerosol chemical characterization for experiments and campaigns in atmospheric chemistry. The work will relate to the source apportionment project in the municipality Kanal ob Soči, and ACTRIS and COST projects.

The successful candidate will also assume teaching duties at the of the University of Nova Gorica, School of Environmental Sciences and/or School of Science.

The successful candidate will be expected to start work as soon as possible after the selection process has been completed. Employment is offered for full-time working hours over a fixed term of one year.
To be considered for the position, the candidates must: * have a doctorate of science in chemistry with extensive experience in aerosol chemical characterization and source apportionment; * hold at least the title of assistant professor or the qualifications to be elected to such title; * experience with running on- and off-line field measurements and consequent laboratory analyses of filter samples; * have experience in data analysis of large datasets of aerosol physicochemical properties, including source apportionment techniques such as e.g., Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF); * have a good command of the English language.
