Post-doctoral researcher in the field of experimental biophysics
The University of Nova Gorica is seeking a candidate for post-doctoral researcher in the field of experimental biophysics.

A successful candidate will have a PhD degree from the area of interaction of biomolecules with graphene and related 2D materials. Experience in characterization of electronic properties of two-dimensional materials is also required. Experience in scanning force microscopy, scanning near-field optical microscopy, photolithography, photoconductivity and/or microfluidics is a plus.
This is a position that is funded by the Slovenian Research agency within the framework of extension of the research programs to the area of SARS-CoV-2-related research. Her/his research activities will be in the field of fabrication and characterization of structures comprising 2D materials and adsorbed biomolecules. In this context the role of cellular receptor proteins on the charge transport in graphene and/or 2D materials will be investigated.
The selected candidate will be involved in research work of Laboratory for Organic Matter Physics (http://www-lfos.ung.si). The Laboratory of Organic Matter Physic operates a complete setup for time-of-flight system for characterization of charge transport in thin semiconducting layers, two scanning probe microscopes, a glove box with integrated vacuum evaporator, a class 100 clean room with laser photolithography and a 4-probe station. In-house access to state-of the art scanning and transmission electron microscopy and photoelectron spectroscopy is also provided.
The selected candidate will have teaching responsibilities within one or more study programs of the University of Nova Gorica.
The preferred starting date is 1st February 2021. The employment contract will be concluded for one year with possibility of extension.
