Participants who received either a medal or an honourable mention at the Olympiad are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The selected applicants will receive the scholarship when they enroll 1st cycle Bologna study program "Physics and Astrophysics" at the University of Nova Gorica.

Two students from the School of Arts of the University of Nova Gorica were awarded prizes at the Visions Youth Culture Festival, which took place in Nova Gorica from 20 to 22 May 2022.

On 5 May 2022, the University of Nova Gorica conferred to the first rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik, the title of Honorary Rector – Rector ad Honorem – of the University of Nova Gorica for his outstanding merits for the establishment, development and operation of the University of Nova Gorica, and for his significant contribution to the development of scientific, artistic and pedagogical activities at the University.

In March 2022, the schools, laboratories and research centres of the University of Nova Gorica once again hosted secondary-school students from Gorizia, Italy, who were performing their obligatory practical placements at the university.

Yesterday, the Vice-rector for Sustainable Development and Technology at the University of Nova Gorica Prof. Dr. Matjaž Valant and the mayor of the Municipality of Nova Gorica Dr. Klemen Miklavič met with the Vice-Rector of the University of the United Arab Emirates Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ali Murad in Dubai. The participants of the meeting agreed on closer cooperation between the two universities.
