e-studying at School for viticulture and enology

Due to the change in study conditions we have experienced over the past year as a result of the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic, the University Nova Gorica has decided to allow all of its students who are unable to attend live lectures for various reasons to actively attend and participate in lectures and tutorials held in lecture halls via distance learning starting in the winter semester 2020/21!

What does this mean in practice in the academic year 2020/21 and in particular for our viticulture and winemaking students?

Under this system, lectures and seminar tutorials in lecture halls will take place in a hybrid form – live, which students can also follow remotely (Miteam platform, Zoom, Moodle) – using modern video conferencing systems and modern lecture halls that allow two-way communication. between distance students and professors, assistants, and students in the lecture hall.

In this way, I will also be able to easily and quickly adapt to any stricter measures – in extreme cases, we will organize the conduct of lectures only with a live broadcast. In the period of deteriorating epidemiological situation, when the university is closed, the courses will be conducted only remotely. We conduct lectures, seminars, defenses of seminar exercises, demonstration exercises at a distance.

The modern platform has a virtual classroom for each subject, where students access materials and also communicate with a professor or assistant.

Laboratory exercises, research work, field exercises, and the like that cannot be conducted remotely are adapted to the current epidemiological situation with adapted dynamics and regimes, in accordance with applicable measures (reduction of the number of students in groups present in the laboratory, protective masks, testing or other proofs, etc.). All students will be informed in advance so that they can participate in these mandatory events.

The study of Viticulture and Enology at 1st and 2nd level is practical in nature and therefore all students must ensure their presence at the place of study when the practical content can be organized.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will keep you informed of any changes. For more information, please contact the School Office at info.fvv@ung.si.
