Objectives and competences

The students upgrade their knowledge of the Modern Italian language on all levels, from the phonological level to the textual-syntactic level and develop their communication skills in Italian.

Prerequisites

The students who have previously obtained approx. the A1+ level of language competence can take part in the course.

Content

Through dealing with everyday topics (travelling, shopping, media), the students learn the tenses (the past, the future) and moods (the imperative).
The students develop their listening, speaking, writing and reading skills by working on appropriate textual models and by using appropriate audiovisual aids.

Intended learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding:
The students acquire the knowledge and the ability to communicate in a foreign language: the comprehension of texts, expressing and explaining notions, facts, thoughts and opinions; they learn how to compose texts in appropriate communicative situations; they are able to discuss tpics related to their professional fields; they understand and accept cultural differences between the Slovene and Italian nations.

Assessment

Successfully passing the preliminary test after the first period of lectures. Successfully passing the written and oral examinations at the end of the period of lectures.

Ennio Francavilla is Italian language lecturer at UNG and tenured teacher of Italian, Latin, History and Geography at high-school “Giosuè Carducci-Dante Alighieri” of Trieste.
