Tara Seničić, student of the BSc study programme Viticulture and Enology

My name is Tara Seničić and I'm a third-year student of the School for Viticulture and Enology at the University of Nova Gorica, where each day is filled with enthusiasm and dedication towards the science and art of enology. The quality of education at the School has exceeded all my expectations. The lecturers are experts in their professional fields and they transfer on us a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The courses cover all aspects of viticulture and enology, from ecology to wine marketing. During the course of our studies, we use our knowledge in real-life situations, at the compulsory practical placement, which represents a priceless opportunity for our professional development. The lecturers not only share their rich experience with us, but also nurture open mutual collaboration, an encouraging dialogue and the exchange of ideas. The learning methods are interactive, the study groups are small and we always get an answer to every our question.

Life in the Vipava Valley, and in general in Slovenia, also contributes to the whole study experience. This place offers harmony between the urban atmosphere and the natural beauties. Friendly people and the rich cultural scene increase the sense of belonging. Travelling across Slovenia also brings you great experience and wonderful views, from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea, which makes student life even more interesting. At the School for Viticulture and Enology, the love of wine turns into expertise. The School strives for educating the leaders in the fields of viticulture and enology, and I'm proud to be a part of this inspiring community.
