The lecture "The quest for life in extrasolar planets" held in Nova Gorica on Jan. 15, 2015

Web portal www.portalvvesolje.si is for the sixth consecutive year organizing a series of public lectures as a series entitled "Walks through Space". This year the event is prepared jointly with the School of Science of the University of Nova Gorica. The lectures will be organized once per month, each month in a different Slovenian town.

The first lecure took place on January 15, 2016 at TŠC School, Nova Gorica. Dr. Giovanni Vladilo from the Italian National institute for astrophysics and Observatory of Trieste (INAF – OATs) introduced the main results obtained from the observations of extrasolar planets. The second part of his presentation was focused on the planets that have proper conditions to host life. He explained how scientists hope to detect life with future observations of the best candidate habitable planets.
