Publish research data

Open science legislation requires that research funded with at least 50% public funding must also provide open access to research data, research software, research methods ...

All research results that are necessary for the replication of the research must be published in the selected repository, in accordance with the principle “as open as possible and as closed as necessary”

It is recommended to publish research data in domain-specific repositories (CLARIN.SI, SIstory, Inspire-HEP ...). If there is no relevant domain-specific repository, in the institutional one (RUNG, Open Science Slovenia ...). If the research organization does not have a repository, research data can also be published in general repositories (Zenodo ...).

If research data is published in domain-specific repositories, it is necessary to enter metadata, internet link to the published research data and information about the projects in the institutional repository RUNG.

In order to ensure quality research data, it is necessary to prepare a Research Data Management Plan (RDMP). This document should provide instructions for handling of research data throughout the research process and after the research is completed.

CTK has prepared templates and a selection of online tools for creating research data management plans as well as a translation of instructions for preparing the RDMP of the Science Europe Association.

Research data must be handled in accordance with FAIR principles (more Iniciativa GO FAIR):

  • Findable - title, description, authors, journal, year, issue, page ...
  • Accessible - PID
  • Interoperable - metadata
  • Reusable – CC license
