Objectives and competences

The main objective of the course is to acquaint students with the fundamentals of economics and project organization with the aim of giving the economic basis for the design of economically efficient technologies, as well as the effective management of technology.

Students will acquire the following competences :
• basic knowledge of project management and economics to design economically efficient technologies, as well as the effective management of technology ,
• Understanding the dependencies between the projects and companies management, technology, and economics.
• Understanding the terminology, comprehensive business and the role of technological systems in it,
• understanding the development of the organization in conjunction with the technology as well as the evaluation of projects.
• Management of research methods and procedures, and processes in the area of organization.
• Autonomy in professional work and decision-making in the field of project management.
• The ability to use knowledge in the field of project management in practice.
• Working in a group and tolerant acceptance and compliance with constructive criticism and comments.
• Ability to solve theoretical and practical technical issues with the use of scientific methods and procedures.
• Understanding and use of critical analysis and development theories and their application to solving concrete cases.
• Development of skills and the use of knowledge in the field of project management.

• Able to produce retrograde breakdown of the project and present the basic characteristics of each task.

• The examination should assess the economic conquest of thinking and verification of acquired competences. • Use a paper and work on exercises to assess the ability to connect a variety of subject areas. Seminar work is consistent with the framework and the link between organizational, economic and technological subjects. The aim is to connect content knowledge, acquired in different subjects in the learning process. This is achieved by linking the thematic areas linked together in a seminar. 60/40

Lecturer's references

Prof. Dr. Mirko Markič is a full professor of management and a research councillor.

He received a doctoral degree from the Faculty of Organisational Sciences, the University of Maribor. After working in the automotive sector for 12 years, he started employment with the College of Management - today's Faculty of Management, the University of Primorska. He was the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education and in charge of coordinating research and development activities for two terms of office. He was also involved in teaching at the University of Ljubljana, the University of Maribor, the University of Nova Gorica and the Faculty of Organization Studies in Novo mesto. He cooperated with foreign institutions: the University of Niš (Serbia), Yasar University (Turkey) and the Slovene Education Consortium (Italy).. He is also a head/member of many research and entrepreneurial projects. His fields of research are administration and organization sciences - management and public health service (health and safety at work).
