German language 1

The aim of this basic course of the German language is to develop all four types of the students’ linguistic skills, that is communication, listening, reading and writing skills.

The aim of the course is to equip the students with a balanced professional and pragmatic linguistic knowledge. In the introductory part of the course, the students acquire basic knowledge of the German language.
There are no prerequisites.

• Grammar (basic morphology and syntax): the students learn how to use basic grammar units in texts
• Analysis and production of shorter texts in the German language covering various topics
• Acquiring vocabulary on various topics
• Analysis and interpretation of audio recordings and written texts
• Reading basic authentic professional texts and acquiring vocabulary covering various topics

Knowledge and understanding:
The students are able to understand basic grammatical structures and use them appropriately in speech and writing.

The students take two mid-term tests. At the end of the semester, the students take a written and an oral examination. The students who pass both mid-term tests with the minimum result of 80 % are exempted from the written examination and can therefore only take the oral examination.

Margit Horvath je profesorica angleškega in nemškega jezika in si je formalno izobrazbo pridobila z visokošolskim študijem doma in v tujini. Poleg študija germanistike na Filozofski fakulteti v Ljubljani, je na univerzi v Heidelbergu končala enoletni študij nemščine kot tujega jezika (DaF), pozneje pa podoben specializirani študij (Hochschullehrgang Deutsch als Fremdsprache) na graški univerzi. Pedagoške izkušnje si je pridobila z dolgoletnim poučevanjem. Od leta 1992 je samostojno prirejala in izvajala številne jezikovne programe različnih stopenj za odrasle. Oktobra 2002 je končala podiplomski študij "Executive MBA" na Donavski univerzi v Kremsu, Avstriji.
