The entire renovation of the Lanthieri mansion cost 4 million euros. In 2010, the Vipava municipality managed to get three million euros from a state notice that secured money to selected candidates from the European Fund. The remaining million was provided through the municipality's own funds.

By signing a lease for 85 years, the University of Nova Gorica gained additional 1900 m² of space that will be used for pedagogical and research activities. The renovated castle will offer work space to the School of Viticulture and Enology, the Wine Research Center, and the Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering. Moreover, all the official ceremonies and festivities will take place at Lanthieri.

Our wish is that by moving of some of the University’s activities to Vipava, we can contribute to better recognizability of the town of Vipava and the entire Vipava Valley.
