Student Wine Festival of the School of Viticulture and Enology of the University of Nova Gorica

The festival will start at 3 pm with the lecture by Dr. Marijana Bubole from the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism in Poreč. The lecture will be introduced by Prof. Dr. Paolo Sivilotti, who teaches viticulture at the School of Viticulture and Enology. After that, the official opening of the festival will take place. This will be followed by the students introducing various sorts of wine to the guests.

At this year’s festival, the wines will be introduced by the first year students of the Viticulture and Enology program as well as by the guest students of the Viticulture from Poreč (Agriculture Department, Polytechnic School in Reka). The students will present homegrown wines as well as wines of well-known wine growers from the selected areas.

You will also be able to try the wines of the University of Nova Gorica which are being produced on the estate of the School of Viticulture and Enology, namely Univerzitetno Rdeče, Univerzitetni Zelen, and Univerzitetni Rose. Moreover, there will be wines that were produced as part of the project of the viticulture studies program in Poreč.

This year’s festival will also host Slovenia’s wine queen Špela Štokelj, wine queen from Vipava, Karmen Cizara, the queen of rebula Teja Erzetič, the queen of teran Anet Jagodič, and the queen of the Slovene Istria, Sara Pfeifer Pelicon. The visitors will be able to taste their promotional wines.

During the festival, the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik, and the Dean of the Polytechnic School in Reka, Prof. Dr. Dušan Rudić will sign the Erasmus + Agreement on collaboration between the two institutions. This will enable an easier exchange of students and professors.
