Novelty at the Lanthieri Mansion: Viticulture and Winemaking Joining Tradition and Contemporaneity

At the museum-tourist part of the University of Nova Gorica’s Lanthieri Mansion, an opening of the viticulture-winemaking museum collection curated by Barbara Sosič from the Slovene Ethnographic Museum took place yesterday.

The collection/exhibition is titled: “The History of Viticulture and Winemaking in Slovenia.” The curator made an interesting introductory lecture tour through the history of Slovene Viticulture and her collection will remain available to the public as part of the museum’s permanent collection.

At the same time, the representatives of the School for Viticulture and Enology and the Wine Research Center of the University of Nova Gorica introduced to the public for the first time the “interactive information point” which is part of the Heritaste project – The Road of Tastes and Experiences. The project got its financial support by being a part of the Cross-border Italy – Slovenia Collaboration 2007-2013 Program which received money from the EU Regional Development Fund and moreover, there was some national financial support. With the HERITASTE, its participating members they want to evaluate the tourist, agricultural, historical, cultural, and economic specificities of our border region.
