A Special Mention of the Jury at the 19th Festival of Slovenian Film for a Student of the School of Arts, University of Nova Gorica
The films of the faculty members and students of the Schools of Arts (University of Nova Gorica) have once again achieved success at the 19th Festival of Slovenian Film.
This year, the committee added a Special Note to the student “Vesna” award (the only award in the student section). The Special Note was given to Ester Ivakič, the student at the School of Arts, for her bachelor thesis film project, called Srdohrd. The “Vesna” award for the best short film was awarded to our graduate Urška Djukić for her short film titled Dober tek življenje, which was based on her Master’s film Mulci. The Vesna award for the best coproduction went to our long-time faculty member Rajko Grlić, namely, for his film Ustava Republike Hrvaške (the film also got a “Vesna” for costume design). “Vesna” for the best animated film went to the film Nočna ptica. Our staff member Tina Smrekar was involved with the film as a producer.
The School of Arts at the University of Nova Gorica introduced nine films at the 19th Festival of Slovenian Film - four animated films, three feature film, and two documentary films.
