All open application deadlines of the Call for enrolment into undergraduate study programmes in 2020/2021 academic year have been extended to 9 of June 2020.

In accordance with the Act on provisional measures for judicial, administrative and other public matters to cope with the spread of infectious disease SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) (The Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 36/2020) all open application deadlines have been extended until further notice.

According to the results of the international Round University Ranking system, which evaluates and ranks the best universities in the world, the University of Nova Gorica once again got placed very high (it took the 201st spot) in 2020.

This is the result of the years-long deliberate implementation of new teaching approaches, especially the so-called flipped learning, where the students are provided with the learning materials (recordings of lectures, online videoclips, articles) in advance, before lectures, and they study the materials themselves first and only then discuss them in class.

An agreement signed by the University of Nova Gorica (UNG) and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice inaugurates the launch of the double degree Master’s programme in Language Science, on the basis of the existing Master’s study programme Slovene Studies – Linguistics at the UNG School of Humanities and the Master’s study programme Language Science (it. Laurea magistrale in Scienze del linguaggio – LM-39) at the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies at Ca’Foscari University of Venice.

The first application deadline for admission to undergraduate study programs is extended to April 9, 2020.

NEW INSTRUCTIONS AND CLARIFICATIONS REGARDING THE EMERGENCE OF CORONAVIRUS

Today, the Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and a Slovene pilot and environmental researcher Matevž Lenarčič signed a collaboration agreement.

The following measures are being taken at the University of Nova Gorica in response to the current situation nationally and internationally regarding the occurrence and spread of coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

Today the rector of the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik and the director of the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, Dr. Aleš Žnidarič, signed an agreement on long-term cooperation.

Today, the French Ambassador to Slovenia, Her Excellency Florence Ferrari visited the University of Nova Gorica.

Dr. Aleksandra Pivec, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, and her colleagues visited the University of Nova Gorica today.

On December 15, an international film festival K3 ended in the Austrian town of Villach.

On Wednesday, 4 December and on Thursday, 5 December, 2019, the graduation ceremony for Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral students of the University of Nova Gorica was held at the Lanthieri Mansion in Vipava.

On Friday, 15 November, 2019 the School of Humanities (at the University of Nova Gorica) and the Scientific Research Center of the Slovene Academy of Sciences and Arts (specifically, its Research Station in Nova Gorica) organized a linguistic conference called Škrabčevi dnevi 11.

The Vice-rector for Education at the University of Nova Gorica, Prof. Dr. Mladen Franko received the title of an honorary doctor of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU) in Ganja.
