General requirements for enrollment are:

  • successfully completed matura exam leading to matriculation,
  • successfully completed final examination before 1 June 1995, that follows a suitable four-year secondary school programme,
  • successfully completed the final examination following a suitable vocational secondary school (vocational matura) in the same field of expertise (Klasius-P-16 Section 05: Science, Mathematics and Statistics; 06: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT); 07: Engineering, Production Technologies and Construction; 09: Health and Social Security) and successfully completed the examination in one of the matura subjects, where this such subject is not the same as any of the subjects that the candidate has already successfully completed in the final examination of the vocational secondary school.

According to the criteria for transitions, students from related study programs in the field of natural and technical sciences can transfer to the 2nd year of the Physics and Astrophysics program, for which they send a request to the School’ study programme committee. Depending on the orientation of the previous study, the School’ study programme committee decides on the adequacy of the acquired competencies for the transition and can determine the additional study obligations that must be completed before enrollment in the 3rd year.

Please note that courses are available in English language. The general minimum level of English language skills required is B2 (in accordance with CEFR).

In case the number of candidates exceeds the number of available positions, the candidates will be selected based on their GPA from their secondary school programme.

Courses are available also in English language. The general minimum level of English language skills required is B2 (in accordance with CEFR).

How to apply

New general requirements for enrollment 2023/2024 are:

  • successfully completed matura exam leading to matriculation,
  • successfully completed final examination before 1 June 1995, that follows a suitable four-year secondary school programme,
  • successfully completed the final examination following a suitable vocational secondary school (vocational matura) in the field of: nature conservation technician, computer technician, mechatronics technician, optician technician, construction technician, electrician or mechanical technician and general matura exam in mathematics. If the candidate has already taken this subject at the vocational matura, he/she needs to take a general matura exam in physics. This such subject shall not be the same as any of the subjects that the candidate has already successfully completed in the final examination of the vocational secondary school.
