Curriculum of the second-level study programme Engineering and Management
Admission requirements
Applicants should normally have a first degree in the fields of technology, engineering and management, natural sciences, economics or organization, with a total of at least 180 ECTS.
Applicants with a first degree in other fields of study (180 ECTS) should write to the School's study programme committee, who will determine which additional exams the applicants need to take before enrollment.
Applicants who have obtained BSc degrees in the fields of technology, engineering and management, economics or organization with a total of 240 ECTs can proceed to the second year of the Master's programme. Individual assessment of candidate's exams, ranging from 18 to 21 ECTS, is done on his/her enrollment into the second year.
Applicants who have obtained more than 180 ECTs in other fields of study in the course of undergraduate programmes should write to the School's study programme committee, who will assess each case individually and determine the number of eligible ECTS (max up to 60 ECTs).
Applicants are selected on the basis of their success in their previous education.
Educational and professional goals
A graduate who completes the Master's programmes will show a distinctive multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge of the field. He or she will be able to work efficiently in places which do not require narrow or very specific technical knowledge, but a good technical foundation coupled with economic and organizational skills. He/she will be able to integrate different more or less specialized groups into an efficient team, a skill needed by team and production leaders. If he/she is chosen not to act as a team leader, his/her main role will be to liaise between professionals of different backgrounds (technical, technological, economic, organizational, and other) and thus ensure business efficiency within interdisciplinary fields.
Access to further studies
After the completion of Master’s Study programme, candidates can continue their study in different study programmes leading to the doctoral degree, in accordance with the enrollment requirements.
Assessment
Ta določi mentorja in komisijo. Kandidat po izdelani magistrski nalogi delo javno zagovarja pred komisijo. Natančen postopek je predviden s predpisom o magistriranju.
